Problematic Login

Yeah, this post is not supposed to be written here. If only I could login to Blogger, I could have written something more useful rather than just ranting (again). Is it just me or is it getting difficult to login to Blogger? Does it have something to do with my Internet connection (again)? Seems that I just can't get reliable Internet connection in my home. Period.

So much stuff had happened. Some I would like to share to the world, some I would but couldn't, and some that I just wouldn't. Now, that I have the mood to write it, the medium just won't cooperate. It's not my habit to write blog in the office since ever, as you may have realized by now. But it may have to change, I guess. For one thing, office connection is a lot more stable, plus I don't get paid overtime anyway.

Oh, yeah, one more thing. A co-worker of mine laughingly said that my writings do not even come close to what I envisioned in my new year resolution. She said that I wrote too little to what she would have expected. To that I replied, well.. you don't even come close to yours.. ^_^

Hard Time Watching New Movies

(Sigh) Working life really saps movie time in my case. As far as I remember, the last time I watched new movie was 28 Weeks Later and Wild Hogs in the past month. Before that, it was during Jakarta International Film Festival which was like 5-6 months ago.

Well, actually it's not the whole story. TV time is increasing compared to when I was still in college (though I can justify it by claiming that I watch mostly news channel with Metro TV for local coverage and CNBC for international business). Still, those precious leisure time are being diverted to watch TVs instead of movies. Oh well, can't win them all can I?

Hopefully, this'll be the start of something new.

Integration with indrayudha.net

Earth Street Corner is now integrated to my personal homepage, indrayudha.net. There is no noticeable change here, except for the consolidated counter with indrayudha.net. Other than that, the feedburner for this blog is featured at the index of indrayudha.net, making it the first featured feedburner of my three blogs.

Eventually, my personal homepage will act as the main portal, so visitors will be able to view latest blog entries (if any) without scouring my blog one after another. The theme for this blog also appears to have taken shape, albeits very loosely defined. Earth Street Corner blog contains pop culture postings that I take interest in. The description is also changed to Indonesian old-style spelling to add some retro lingo into the mix.

TV Series List

As you may have noticed by now, I made a TV Series List as a collection of my all-time favorite TV Series. Unlike the Movies List, this one is littered with popular, Hollywood-made series. The reason being: 1) I don't watch TVs as much as movies anyway, 2) TV Series have their own different appeal so even some Hollywood-made ones can have its cult-effect on me (i.e., Star Trek). Still, there are several independent and foreign TV series made into the list.

Because of its limited nature, I don't put a specific time period for the list. To be made into the list, a TV show has to be on the running for more than a year, which bring a dilemma to me as to where I should put those with running time for a year or less (perhaps another list for Mini-Series?). These TV Series have hold my interest so much so that given enough resources, I would've bought their entire seasons DVDs. They also interest me enough that I actually want to watch their re-runs whenever I come across one of them while channel-hopping.

I only limit the list to an all-time 15, but it's possible for it to grow as I don't put a specific time limit. Some of them are also cross-listed with other favorites such as Friendster's and Blogger's because of its limited nature. So, unlike the Movies, you'll probably gonna come into similar list in my other e-profiles. Perhaps before long I'll decide to make another list for the Mini-Series as they often have more quality scripts but still retain the longer storyline format. We'll see...

Team America best quote

I watched Team America a while ago, and this is the part where we laughed the hardest. Not only because it's so darn funny, but it has it's own metaphorical double-meaning that's just have to be appreciated on its own level. Salman e-mailed that part to me, and roller-coaster once again. Enjoy!

There are three types of people in the world:  dicks, pussies, and assholes.

We're dicks! We're reckless, arrogant, stupid dicks. And the Film Actors Guild (FAG's) are pussies. And Kim Jong Il is an asshole. Pussies don't like dicks, because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes: assholes that just want to shit on everything. Pussies may think they can deal with assholes their way. But the only thing that can fuck an asshole is a dick, with some balls.

The problem with dicks is: they fuck too much or fuck when it isn't appropriate - and it takes a pussy to show them that. But sometimes, pussies can be so full of shit that they become assholes themselves... because pussies are an inch and half away from ass holes. I don't know much about this crazy, crazy world, but I do know this: If you don't let us fuck this asshole, we're going to have our dicks and pussies all covered in shit!

People, please...

I don't understand why people filled up Friendster Message Board with useless quizzes and chain mails which only they seemed to care about. I mean if that's your thing, would you put them on your blogs instead? that's what they're for. Message Board is reserved for notifications such as meetings, reunions, job lists, and things of that nature. If you really have quality stories or news links, those will do too. But if you don't, save the space for more important stuff, Message Board is limited only to so many messages. Beside, I visited some of your blogs and they were empty while you kept posting <bleep> on Message Board. Why don't you use the Blog space? your quizzes will last a long time rather than if you posted on Message Board.

List Revised

Oops, I said too soon. Yesterday, I thought that I would be able to complete the list by the end of this summer. However, it seems that the likeliest timeframe to complete it to be the Spring of next year. Why's that? well, if I set the period from 1995-2005, don't you think I have to wait until early next year to be able to watch the movies released this year? I think so too.

Maybe you have a question of why I set the time period such as it is. I admit that I set it arbitrarily. When I start the list, a lot of the movies were from 2000-2001, and the earliest was 1995, so why don't set it 1995-2005. After all, if I set a specific number, it's got to end sometime, right?

Oh, one more thing. I reset the list to be based on the films' release dates, since there's no sense in its previous ranking-method.
